Vodacom to Adjust Out-of-Bundle Rates for Prepaid and Contract Customers from June 2025
Vodacom customers can expect updated voice and data out-of-bundle (OOB) pricing from 1 June 2025, as part of the network’s annual price review across prepaid, contract, and TopUp plans.
The mobile giant began notifying customers of the upcoming changes via SMS in April, citing the need to maintain high service quality and reliable coverage amid rising operational costs.
“For us to continue delivering the quality coverage and service you expect, we’ll be implementing our annual update on selected products and services,” the message reads.
What’s Changing?
For contract and TopUp customers, OOB voice and data rates will each increase by two cents per minute and per megabyte, respectively.
Prepaid customers on several plans will also be affected, including:

Most prepaid customers will see a 4.1% increase in OOB data rates, while Power Pack users will face a slightly steeper hike of 6.9%.
On the voice side, the average increase for prepaid OOB calls is 1.2%, with two exceptions:

Prepaid LTE will see a 1% rise.

Prepaid 79c, Vodacom’s most affordable OOB voice option, will increase by 2.5%.
These changes follow Vodacom’s earlier contract plan price hikes in March 2025, which saw an average increase of 4.5% across postpaid offerings, including Red, mobile broadband, fixed-wireless access, and Flexi packages.
Vodacom customers are encouraged to review their plans and consider bundle options to avoid higher OOB charges starting in June.
