Black Friday has become an important day in South Africa’s annual retail calendar.

This can be shown n a survey by PwC's Strategy & division, it forecasts that there is set to be a 36% increase in Black Friday spending in 2019.

The survey, which focused on consumer spending over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday period, was conducted in six territories: France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, UK and South Africa.

PwC also mentioned in the survey that on Black Friday 2018, South African retail sales increased by 1,952% compared to an ordinary shopping day.
