GoPro launches new Hero 8 Black and Go Pro Max cameras

GoPro announced that it has launched the new Hero 8 Black action camera and the new 360-degree action video camera, the GoPro Max.

The Hero 8 Black features the same 12MP camera and GP1 processor as its predecessor but has a new design that allows it to be mounted to any GoPro mount on its own. 

The Hero 8 Black has 3 mics with reduced wind noise to help users get a better natural audio quality.

The device has the ability to shoot up to 4K footage at 60 frames per second as it features an improved version of the company’s HyperSmooth digital image stabilization.

It can also shoot 240 frames per second at 1080p for super slow-motion footage and it can live stream at 1080p.

Users will also have the ability to go hands-free with  the device by using 14 voice commands like “GoPro, start recording.” Or wake the camera up with “GoPro, turn on.”

The device is waterproof down to 33ft (10m).

The Go Pro Max

The Max features 180-degree lenses on the front and rear of the device with an array of six microphones for all-around spherical audio capturing.

The device also features Max HyperSmooth, Max TimeWarp, Max SuperView— comes with a single-lens HERO and dual-lens 360.

The Max will shoot up to 5.6K 360-degree video at 30 frames per second, it’s capped at 1440p and 60 frames per second when shooting with just one of the twin lenses.

it is also waterproof down to 16ft (5m).

Both the GoPro Hero 8 Black and GoPro Max will ship from 15 October and are available for pre-order at Takealot and Outdoorphoto.

On Takealot, the Hero 8 Black is priced at R7,989 and the Max costs R9,989.
