Shoprite Group Elevates Centurion Retail with Mega Checkers Hyper at Irene Village Mall

The Shoprite Group is rapidly accelerating its Gauteng expansion with the launch of a premier retail hub at Irene Village Mall in Centurion. Featuring a state-of-the-art Checkers Hyper, Uniq Clothing by Checkers, and Petshop Science, the development has successfully created 115 new jobs, 102 of which are dedicated to the sprawling new hypermarket.

This latest opening capitalises on the retailer’s massive growth momentum, successfully building upon a strategy that recently saw the Group surpass its ambitious store rollout targets.

A Destination Shopping Experience

Spanning an impressive 5,369m², the new Checkers Hyper is designed as an all-encompassing, one-stop shopping destination. It offers an expansive range of fresh food, groceries, general merchandise, and specialty products, supported by a variety of convenient in-store services like a refrigerated flower cart and a Money Market counter.

To elevate the standard in-store shopping experience, the hypermarket features dedicated specialty departments and premium food outlets, including:

A fully equipped Meat Market and Bakery

A Hot & Cold Foods Deli and vibrant Fresh Produce section

In-store Krispy Kreme and Kauai outlets

Fresh sushi and tandoori chicken stations

A coffee shop, milkshake bar, and smoothie bar

A decadent, flowing chocolate fountain
