Huawei's foldable Mate X device is delayed until November

Huawei will reportedly delay the launch of its foldable Mate X smartphone until between September and November.

This is according to a report by TechRadar, which stated that the company has made a few changes such as added “slimmer lock button” and “ changes to the phone’s hinge system.

The report further stated that the engineering team back in Shenzhen tried to replace the steel hinge with an aluminium but it did not work out, so it decided to retain the steel hinge.

The publication did not include the reason that Huawei decided to delay the launch yet again.

Originally, the phone was set to debut in June, then it stated that September would be the next date but now it looks like November is the date to mark on your calendar.

The Huawei Mate X combines 5G, foldable screen, AI and is a 2-in-1 smartphone and tablet with a Falcon Wing Mechanical Hinge that has a ridge on the spine that has a back to back fold with no gaps in between.

The Huawei Mate X comes with the HUAWEI Balong 5000, the world's first 7nm multi-mode 5G chipset.
