Mr Price launches its own make-up brand called Scarlet Hill

Fashion retailer Mr Price announced that it has launched its first-ever beauty brand in the form of Scarlet Hill in South Africa.

The new product offering comprises over 200 products across 8 categories, including lipsticks, eyeshadows, BB creams, beauty tools and fragrances.

The brand also features skincare products such as wipes, facial masks, cleansers and more.

“This brand is not just about make-up, it’s about giving people the opportunity and freedom to celebrate and express who they are,” says Donovan Baney, MD of Mr Price.

The brand name was inspired by Mr Price heritage such as the word Scarlet which is the colour scarlet red – an update to the famous MRP red – while Hill refers to the location of the first MRP store, opened on Brickhill Road in 1985.
