Nintendo launches new Switch console with larger OLED screen

Nintendo announced that it has launched a new version of the Switch console that features a larger OLED display and other upgraded features.

The Switch display has been upgraded from a 6.2-inch LCD touchscreen to a 7-inch OLED 1280×720 touchscreen.

Other new features include a wide adjustable stand on the back of the console, enhanced audio, and increased on-board storage of 64GB.

Just like Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch (OLED model) allows users to play on the TV and share the detachable Joy-Con controllers for out-of-the-box multiplayer fun.

Meanwhile, the console’s docking station now has a built-in LAN port. Nintendo sells LAN cables for the console separately.

Like the standard model, the console has a battery life of approximately 4.5 to nine hours depending on the games that are played.

The company also mentioned that all previously released Joy-Con controllers for Nintendo Switch are compatible with this new model. Additionally, Nintendo Switch (OLED model) is compatible with the full library of Nintendo Switch games.

For anyone that picks up this new console and wants to transfer their digital games and save data from another Nintendo Switch, details about the transfer process can be found at the “How to Transfer Your User Data” support page
