Oppo Inno Day 2020 event, which is the tech giant's annual technology conference, was held in Shenzhen and promised to be a "Leap into the future."

At the event, Oppo revealed to the world, its rollable concept smartphone device — the Oppo X 2021 — bringing its own spin to devices with flexible displays.

According to the company, the OPPO X 2021 rollable concept handset is the latest OPPO R&D achievement in pushing the boundaries of a flexible display and structural stacking, bringing users a more natural interactive experience.

The Oppo X 2021 features a variable OLED display that can unroll from 6.7-inches to 7.4 inches, allowing users to adjust the screen size according to different needs and scenarios.

During a hands-on tour of the devices, the company showed off the prototype for the Oppo X 2021.

The device also comes with a rollable screen and motor, which allows users to move the side of the device to make it expand to a wider format. Fully extended, the device measures roughly the same size as an e-reader or small tablet.

The screen’s expansion is powered by a Roll Motor powertrain which unrolls the display. Other Oppo technologies incorporated into the device include its 2-in-1 plate and Warp Track high-strength screen laminate.
