Pick n Pay has launched novelty slippers for the whole family for Slipper Day

CAPE TOWN – On Friday the 10th of May is the annual slipper day hosted by the Reach For A Dream Foundation with the aim of raising funds and awareness for children with life-threating illnesses.

By purchasing your Slipper Day 2019 wristband for R10 at any Pick n Pay, Wimpy or Dis-Chem, you will contribute to providing strength, hope and courage to children with life-threating illnesses that Reach For A Dream empowers.

For over 30 years, the Reach For A Dream Foundation has brought hope to over 60 000 life-threatened children across South Africa with the goal to give the child courage to carry on their fight.

During this time, more than 16 000 dreams have been fulfilled ranging from a bedroom makeover to arranging for a child to meet their favourite celebrity or fly in a plane.

“Slipper Day is a fun way to support a wonderful cause and we urge businesses and schools to take up the challenge to buy their wristbands and wear their favourite slippers on 10 May,” says Suzanne Ackerman-Berman, Pick n Pay director of transformation.

Additionally, for this occasion, Pick n Pay has launched novelty slippers for Slipper Day for men, woman and children to choose from.

The fun range includes dog, bunny, rhino, llama, flamingo or brightly coloured unicorn slippers. Also, by buying one of these novelty slippers before 10 May, Pick n Pay will donate R10 of the purchase price to Reach For A Dream.

“We want make this day as fun as possible for customers to participate so that we can help make a child’s dream come true,” said Ackerman-Berman.
