SA pricing for Huawei's new GT 2 smartwatch revealed

Huawei's new GT 2 smartwatch will be available in South Africa from the 17th of October.

According to Huawei, the Watch GT 2 will cost customers R4,999.

The company added that there will be a pre-order special for South African customers, which is users who order the Watch GT 2 before the 17th of October will receive a free pair of Huawei FreeLace earphones, valued at R2,499.

The GT 2 Watch features:

Huawei announced that it has launched its new GT 2 smartwatch in 46mm and 42mm options, powered by the firm’s proprietary Kirin A1 chip.

The Huawei Watch GT 2 is also Huawei’s first smartwatch with an all-in-one 3D glass screen, creating a wider, boundless display.

The 46mm model features a 1.39-inch OLED with 454 x 454 resolution and 22mm strap like, while the smaller, thinner, and lighter 42mm Watch GT 2 scales things back with a 1.2-inch OLED with 390 x 390 resolution and 20mm strap.

 

The Watch GT 2 also offers an improved user experience, including an all-in-one 3D borderless glass display and an improved sports mode.

This sports mode is compatible with 15 activities, including running, walking, climbing, cycling, swimming, and triathlon.

The watch records data while you exercise and analyse this information to provide you with advice once your exercise routine has been completed.

The TruSleep 2.0 feature also uses data analysis to rate your quality of sleep, analyse your sleep problems, and provide sleep improvement suggestions.

The device can store up to 500 songs, without the need for a connected smartphone and supports Always-On display capabilities along with a variety of watch faces.
