Takealot launches new Ultimate Checkout Sale

Online retailer Takealot announced that it will launch 'The Ultimate Checkout Sale", its own version of an Amazon prime day sale. 

This new sale event will offer a range of big discounts on products across the Takealot and Superbalist platforms.

The Ultimate Checkout Sale will base its deals on an analysis of behaviour and trends of the 1.7 million Takealot and Superbalist shoppers.

 Takealot Group chief executive Kim Reid said in a statement: "What makes The Ultimate Checkout different is that it is built on shopper behaviour and we are hoping to establish this as an annual event."

“Internationally, annual events such as Amazon’s Prime Day, Alibaba’s Singles Day and Flipkart’s Big Billion Days highlight the demand for tailored shopping experiences in addition to great deals."

The Ultimate Checkout will run from 24-26 July 2019 and is scheduled as follows:

  • 24 July – Deals on highest rated products
  • 25 July – Deals on most searched for products + highest rated products
  • 26 July – Deals on most wish-listed products + most searched for products + highest rated products

In addition to the big sale, the company will also be giving away  R20,000 in vouchers to any lucky customer that makes purchases across Takealot and Superbalist over the course of the sale.
