You can now buy pre-loved iPhones at Vodacom with its ‘Good as New’ offering

Vodacom announced that it has launched a new offering in South Africa called ‘Good As New’ – a selection of pre-loved iPhones that will be on sale with a more affordable price tag.

A ‘Good As New’ phone comes standard with a 12-month warranty, covering all internal repairs, software reloads, and setting updates. And most importantly, battery protection.

“The introduction of ‘Good As New’ forms part of our continued efforts to democratise access and create a digital ecosystem that enables a connected society, which is aligned to our purpose of connecting everyone for a better future. Part of Vodacom’s commitment to preserving the environment includes finding innovative ways to reduce, reuse and recycle devices to lessen the environmental impact that comes with the growth of the business,” said Jorge Mendes, CEO of Vodacom Consumer Business.

Additionally, Vodacom added that it wants to use the initiative to reach the goal to refurbish and repurpose 200,000 devices by 2025.

“Under our purpose planet pillar, and as part of its waste management strategy, Vodacom has committed to refurbish and recycle 200 000 devices from customers by 2025. Reselling refurbished pre-loved iPhones is another way we aim to drive this commitment, reducing e-waste, one device at a time,” added Mendes.

Current offerings include the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8. You can also choose between paying a once-off cash price or a monthly payment plan.
