New smartwatch brand TicWatch launches in South Africa

A Chinese company called Mobvoi announced that it has launched its smartwatch brand TicWatch, in South Africa. 

The company added that it will be launching two of its devices which are the TicWatch GTH and Pro 3 GPS.

Both smartwatches can monitor blood oxygen levels, heart rate, and a variety of other metrics.

The TicWatc GTH

 

Users can sync the data to their Android and iOS smartphones using the Mobvoi App, which can also be synced to Google Fit and Apple Health.

The TicWatch GTH is the more affordable of the two devices. It features a 1.55-inch rectangular colour display,  can track your SpO2 levels, heart rate, sleep quality, respiration rate and has the ability to measure skin temperature.

It also features 5ATM water resistance and up to 10 days of battery life.

 Pro 3 GPS

 

The TicWatch Pro 3 GPS smartwatch includes GPS tracking capabilities and has a rounded 1.4-inch AMOLED display.

 The device has a battery life of up to 72 hours in smart mode and up to 45 days in essential mode.

The smartwatch can monitor your heart rate, sleep, workouts, motion, and more in terms of health tracking. It also has IP68 water and dust resistance rating, making it suitable for swimming.

You can also use the watch to access Google Assistant.

The smartwatch lets you choose custom watch faces and access apps from the Google Play Store in terms of customisation.

The TicWatch GTH has a price of  R1 999. Meanwhile, the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS has a recommended price of R6 699.

Both smartwatches are currently available online on Takealot and Agent Zero.

The TicWatch GTH will be available as an add-on to a Vodacom contract from 7 July, either for a price of R109 x 24 months or for R69 x 36 months.

The Pro 3 GPS will launch at Vodacom on 8 August. Contract prices will be announced closer to the launch.
