Samsung unveils the new Z Flip

Samsung shocked the world with a teaser advert of the new Z Flip device at this year's Oscar awards but now the company is ready to bring the device to consumers.

Unlike Samsung’s previous Galaxy Fold device, the Galaxy Z Flip features a clamshell folding design with the main display folding along the horizontal axis.

The device is a full-screen phone that folds to fit in your pocket with revolutionary flexible glass, a camera made to stand on its own, and a dual battery that lasts all day.

The Main display is a 6.7'' FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED Display that is 21.9:9, 2636x1080 and 425ppi.

The Cover display is a 1.1'' Super AMOLED Display that is 300x112 and 303ppi.

The Galaxy Z Flip features an Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) display – the first foldable glass display in any smartphone – a Hideaway Hinge that not only disappears into the phone when open but also uses nylon fibers to repel dust and dirt.

The device will be available in South Africa in either Mirror Black or Mirror Purple at a price tag of a whopping R29,999.
