
Sony to relaunch its Walkman device

Sony announced that in celebration of the 40th anniversary of its first Sony Walkman, the company will be launching a limited edition Walkman device.
The design of it will feature a specially designed soft case and package, inspired by its first portable cassette player with a 40th-anniversary logo printed on the rear panel.
The first Sony Walkman portable cassette player was released in 1979 and allowed people to listen to music on the move.
Sony said in a statement: "For the first time, it was possible to enjoy your favourite tracks, albums and artists in high-quality sound, anytime, anywhere.”
“Not everything was better back then, enjoy the best of both worlds with the heritage design of the Walkman whilst having cutting edge technology at your fingertips."
The 40th anniversary NW-A100TPS Walkman features:
- Direct download and streaming via Wi-Fi.
- High-resolution audio compatibility.
- High-resolution audio quality music streaming thanks to LDAC, a premium wireless codec.
- Near Field Communication (NFC) and Bluetooth support.
- Audio upscaling through the DSEE HX processor.
- Noise-cancelling.
- Up to 26 hours’ battery life.
The Walkman 40th anniversary package will include the NW-A100 Walkman, a special soft case styled on the iconic original Walkman and two Walkman 40th Anniversary sticker sheets.
