Tashas Group Brings Italian Flair to Sea Point with Launch of Arlecchino

Expanding its footprint in the Mother City, the renowned Tashas Group has unveiled its latest culinary venture, Arlecchino by Tashas, in the heart of Sea Point.

Blending the group’s nearly 20-year legacy of polished hospitality with a fresh Italian influence, the new modern Mediterranean café is designed to capture the vibrant, social essence of the Atlantic Seaboard while offering a refined yet relaxed dining experience.

The menu, developed by Tashas Group culinary director Jill Okkers, reflects Italy’s generosity and rhythm, interpreted through a contemporary lens rather than strict regional replication.

Founder and CEO Natasha Sideris describes the concept as an instinct-led evolution of the brand.

“Arlecchino is Mediterranean at heart but guided by instinct rather than rules. We wanted a menu that feels abundant, generous and deeply pleasurable – one that encourages people to linger, share and return,” said Sideris.

Flexible, all-day dining

True to the Tashas Group philosophy, Arlecchino offers a flexible, ingredient-driven menu designed to flow seamlessly from morning coffee to leisurely dinners. Breakfast (served 8am–12pm) balances the virtuous with the indulgent, featuring options like a fresh Chia & Acai Bowl, the savoury Italian Scramble with salsiccia, and a decadent Panettone French Toast with mascarpone.

Mediterranean plates built for sharing

As the day progresses, the menu shifts to Mediterranean-inspired sharing plates. Fresh antipasti and salads sit alongside crafted pastas, including the citrus-forward Amalfi Lemon and the rich, slow-cooked beef Genovese. Dinner highlights coastal flavours perfect for communal dining, such as Bazaruto prawns in spiced lemon butter and a whole 500g branzino.

“We wanted pastas that feel familiar but still have a point of view,” explains Okkers. “Nothing overly complicated – just honest, well-executed food.”

Dessert as theatre

Desserts at Arlecchino blend nostalgia with sophistication. The signature Tiramisu is assembled tableside for a touch of drama, featuring dulce de leche and mascarpone, while the Campari Jelly offers a grown-up twist on a classic. “Dessert should feel like a reward,” says Sideris. “A little drama, a little indulgence.”

Aperitivo culture

The beverage menu embraces Italian aperitivo culture, featuring the signature Arlecchino Spritz on tap and the elegant two-sip Martini Minatura. The wine list carefully curates both South African and Italian producers to complement the food.

“At its core, Arlecchino is about pleasure,” Sideris concludes. “Good food, good company and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay just a little longer.”
