Huawei launches new nova 10 Series, a trio of new devices

Huawei has unveiled the all-new Huawei nova 10 series which features the Huawei nova 10 SE, the nova 10  and nova 10 Pro. 

Huawei Mobile South Africa held an event at its Business Park in Johannesburg to showcase its latest mid-range devices.

The design for the 10 series is similar across all its devices, with a new rear camera housing called the Star Orbit Ring. It features a  gold colourway which will stand out with either the Starry Silver or Starry Black colour options available in the 10 series.

"In the era of video-focused social networking, nova users have become more creative. By using excellent equipment, creatives can develop high-quality content to record and express themselves, sharing their amazing daily lives. Thanks to HUAWEI's capability in smartphone photography, the HUAWEI nova 10 Series inherits the excellent genetics of the previous generation, offering young people better imaging and video experience," Huawei said in a statement. 

“The software and hardware capabilities of the Huawei nova 10 series have set a new benchmark for the mobile photography experience for young, talented and curious creatives,” added Huawei. 

The Huawei nova 10 series supports WiFi 6 enhancement and 4K QAM modulation, bringing faster upload and download speeds, with a theoretical peak rate of up to 3.2Gbps.

The Nova 10 SE

Huawei unveiled the nova 10 SE device as a budget-friendly option to the series so that no one can feel excluded. 

It features a 6.67-inch OLED screen, a thickness of 7.39mm, and is powered by a 4500mAh battery. 

The device also comes with a dual camera on the rear-end which consists of an 8MP Ultra-Wide angel+ Depth lens and a 108MP High-res lens.

The Nova 10

The standard nova 10 device is a thin and lightweight device, with a thickness of 6.88mm, weighs 168g with a 120hz refresh rate.

 The nova 10 supports 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge, letting lets users fully charge the phone in just 38 minutes.

It also features a 6.67″-inch OLED screen and is powered by a 4 000mAh battery with 8GB of RAM. 

It comes with a 60 MP front ultra-wide camera, with a 50 MP RYYB ultra vision camera that takes in 40% more light than some lenses.

On the rear end, the device features a 50 MP Ultra Vision lens, 8 MP Ultra-Wide lens and a 2 MP Portrait Depth Camera lens.

The Nova 10 Pro

Weighing 191g, the nova 10 Pro is 7.88mm thick and is equipped with a 4 500mAh battery.

It features a 6.7-inch screen with a 120hz refresh rate. 

Up front, the 10 Pro has a large 60MP ultra wide-angle and 8MP portrait lens. Added to this is object tracking and a dual view display mode, along with 5x lossless digital zoom.

On the rear end, the camera features a primary 50 MP Ultra Vision lens, 8 MP Ultra-Wide lens and a 2 MP Portrait Depth lens.

 The 10 Pro also supports a 100W quick charging to yield a fully charged battery in 20 minutes.

Pricing

As for recommended pricing on these new devices, the Nova 10 (256GB) carries an R12 999 price tag and the Nova 10 Pro (256GB) will retail for R15 999.

The Nova 10 and Nova 10 Pro should be available to pre-order or purchase locally from 22nd September.

The tech giant revealed that the Nova 10 SE will also be launched in SA, but it is yet to confirm its availability, nor its recommended pricing at the time of writing.
