Builders Protea Glen re-opened with new upgrades

Builders officially re-opened its Protea Glen superstore on Wednesday 26 April, to introduce new departments for small and large appliances, flatpack furniture and flooring.

The store is bigger with additional space allocated to offer an improved assortment for customers and is tailored for the building and DIY needs of the Soweto community.

Senior Marketing Operations Manager at Builders South Africa and Cross Border Markets, Munier Solomons expressed the retailer’s excitement sharing that it represents Builders’ continued focus on the township market.

He invited all customers to come and experience the renovated store and try out the variety of solutions such as access to experts in paint, alternative power solutions for various needs, plumbing offerings and building materials.

He also added that shoppers can expect to get services such as free delivery for locations within a 30km radius, installation and assembling of selected products, and roof truss services.

Speaking at the event, Builders Vice President Karen Ferrini said, “Rebuilding the Protea Glen Store forms part of our commitment to revitalising Builders across as we continue our expansion efforts. It is our mission to be the go-to destination for DIY, paint and building materials needs for all our customers.”

Massmart’s Group Chief Executive Jonathan Molapo also shared his excitement for the future of the Protea Glen store saying “it is important that we provide customers with the products and services they need, and as Builders we have an aspirational range that looks at serving just what the customer needs. We’d like to thank the community and our customers in advance for their continued support.”

Builders+ and Builders Pro customers will continue to enjoy savings-related benefits such as incredible deals, and personalised offers on products and services.

An array of instore benefits will be available to all customers - these include financial services such as instore credit, money transfers, lottery facilities, prepaid utilities, and cash loans.

Builders Protea Glen is located at Protea Boulevard and R558 Protea Glen, Tshiawela, Soweto. Operating hours are:

Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 18:00
Saturday between 08:00 and 16:00 and
Sunday between 08:00 and 14:00.

As part of the DIY, building materials and home renovations retailers SUCCEED program, the re-opening also saw Builders partner with Hope Worldwide South Africa (HWSA) to refurbish the Mother Rosey Day Care Centre in support of Early Childhood Development for the community of Protea Glen, Gauteng.
