Checkers opens second Checkers Foods supermarket in Gauteng

Checkers announced that it has opened its second Checkers Foods supermarket in Gauteng, which is located at the Lakefield Shopping Centre in the Benoni area.

Inspired by customer demands for Checkers supermarkets in their neighbourhoods, the first smaller format Checkers Foods opened in Roodepoort late last year, followed by openings in Franschhoek and Ballito.

Conveniently located and ideal for quick top-up shops, Checkers Foods Lakefield offers:

Exclusive brands such as Forage & Feast and Simple Truth;
A Meat Market with free-range chicken and restaurant-quality steak;
A bakery with artisan breads;
A fish counter;
A Foreign Ground Coffee bar;

Hot and cold foods deli;
Fresh fruit and vegetables and;
A Money Market counter.

Checkers Foods Lakefield created jobs for 18 new employees and is managed by Adriaan Eloff Ramnanan who joined the retailer in 2014 as a Designate Assistant Manager.

The store's trading hours are 08h00 to 20h00 from Mondays to Sundays.
