Instagram to get three new features

CAPE TOWN – Facebook announced at its annual Facebook conference, F8, that three new features will be coming to Instagram.

Here is a list of the new features:

1. Fundraising for non-profit organisations

The first feature is that the company is giving users the ability to raise money for nonprofit organisations that they care about directly on the platform.

How it works is that users will use a donation sticker in Stories, users can create a fundraiser and mobilise your community around a cause that they care about.

According to the social giant, 100 percent of the money raised through the fundraising on Instagram will go to the nonprofit that the user is supporting.

This feature will first be available in the US for now but will come to more countries eventually.

2. Shopping

Next, users will be able to shop within Instagram without having to leave the app.

All users need to do is see what their favourite creators are wearing and can then buy it on the app.

However, the company mentioned that the feature will be tested with a small group of creators first and that there are plans to expand access to this feature.

3. An improved camera

The last feature that will be added is a new camera design including Create Mode.

This feature will give users an easy way to share without a photo or video with the aim that users can express themselves more freely on the app.

According to Instagram, the new camera will make it easier for users to use popular creative tools like effects and interactive stickers.
