The iPhone 14 SA pricing revealed and it's not cheap

iStore South Africa has announced its pricing for the iPhone 14 series and compared to last year’s launch of the iPhone 13 range, the price is massively hiked up.

Apple unveiled the iPhone 14 at its “Far Out” event on 7 September 2022.

The new iPhone 14 features Improvements to its performance, battery efficiency upgrades and more powerful photographic capabilities, particularly on the Pro models.

It also features a long-anticipated satellite-messaging feature and on the higher-end models, a new interface called the Dynamic Island.

The base models also get the same design as the previous generation, while the Pro models sport a new pill-shaped notch.

Additionally, the bulk of the iPhone upgrades are coming to the higher-end Pro line. Those devices will get a 48-megapixel camera and a screen that’s capable of always staying on in a low-power mode, similar to recent versions of the Apple Watch.

That will allow the devices to show widgets with bits of information – weather, calendar appointments and stock tickers, for instance – while the rest of the screen remains off.

Pricing

The cheapest model — the base iPhone 14 with 128GB of storage — starts at R20,599 at iStore, which is R3,300 more than the iPhone 13 with 128GB at launch last year.

The iPhone 14 128GB is also R800 more expensive than the iPhone 13 256GB cost at launch, while the iPhone 14 mini will cost users R14,999.

The iPhone 14 Pro 128GB starts from R25,699, R4,200 more than the R21,499 launch price tag of the iPhone 13 Pro with the same storage.

The top-end iPhone 14 Pro Max will set you back no less than R28,399 with 128GB storage, compared to the R23,699 of the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Here is a list of all the variations with the different prices:
