Nokia launches new C30 smartphone in South Africa

HMD Global has announced that its new Nokia C30 device will be available in South Africa.

According to the CEO of HMD Global, Florian Seiche, the new Nokia C30 is bringing the best possible quality to an introductory price point.

“It’s the ultimate device for people who are ready to transition into the world of smart technology – from a brand you know and trust,” said Seiche. 

The C30 features a 6.82-inch HD+ display with 720×1600 resolution and uses an octa-core 1.6GHz processor with Android 11 (Go Edition). It comes equipped with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.

The device is powered by a6 000mAh battery, the largest also ever fitted to a Nokia phone and can last up to three days on a single charge, according to HMD.

In terms of the camera features, it comes with a dual-camera system comprising a 13MP wide lens and a 2MP depth sensor.

There is also a 5MP selfie camera located at the top of the display.

Other features include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and regular security updates for at least two years.

The Nokia C30 will be available in South Africa from early October in selected retail stores. It will cost R2 299 and will be available with dual SIM in the colours Green and White.
